Announcing GreekKeys 2005 Release (Nov. 30,
2004)
The revised and expanded GreekKeys 2005 Release for
Macintosh computers contains two parts:
GreekKeys Unicode, the GreekKeys for the
future (use it now with MS Word 2004 and many other OS X
programs).
- customized polytonic Unicode Greek keyboards for
US/Canada and for eight European keyboards (all
version 2.0), with improved flexibility, including
chaining of diacritic entry
- GreekKeys Symbol input for direct keyboard access
to a full range of metrical symbols, epigraphic,
papyrological, editorial, and Greek musical symbols as
recognized in Unicode version 4.1 (the revised
standard that will be published early in 2005)
- New Athena Unicode font, version 2.0, expanded to
include both new characters recognized in Unicode
version 4.1 and to supply precomposed combinations
(such as vowel with macron and other diacritics)
- robust standard OS X installer package for use in
OS X, version 10.2 or higher
- full documentation of keyboards and fonts,
including advice on conversion from traditional
GreekKeys to Unicode and copy of shareware
GreekKeysConverter
Traditional GreekKeys, the GreekKeys for
backwards compatibility
- customized polytonic Greek keyboards for US/Canada
and for several European keyboards, inputting the
GreekKeys encoding popular for 20 years
- robust installers for use in OS 9.2, in the
Classic environment, and in OS X, version 10.2 or
higher
- revised 2004 Athenian and Attika fonts, backwards
compatible, but with additional encoding of omega with
smooth breathing and acute accent to work around
conflict with non-breaking space character in Word
2004 and other modern applications
