Abstract Book
The APA will publish a volume of
abstracts for the papers that will be presented at the
137th Annual Meeting in Montreal, P.Q.,
Canada. Please send to the APA office, for arrival no
later than September 9, 2005,
a printed copy of your one-page abstract. In preparing
your abstract, please keep the following instructions in
mind:
- Abstracts must be one page in length. Abstracts
longer than one page will not be published.
- Use a laser printer or typewriter with a new
ribbon. (Please, no submissions on dot-matrix or ink
jet printers.)
- Submit an original copy to the APA office. No
e-mail or fax transmissions will be accepted.
- Guidelines:
o
Use 8.5-x-11-inch paper. If A4 paper is used, check
that the text length from the top to the bottom is not
greater than 10 inches.
o
The left, right, and bottom margins should be 1 inch;
the top margin should be .8 inch.
o
Line spacing should be between 1.25 and 1.5.
o
The text of the abstract should be in 11 point Times New Roman font. Abstracts will be
reduced by 35% before being printed.
o
The authorís name (first name first, then
surname in capitals) should be in the upper left-hand
corner. The paper title should be in the upper-right-hand
corner. Both name and title should be in 12 point Times New Roman font. (See other side for
example.) The title must be the same as in the abstract
you originally submitted, although it is understood that
the space limitations prescribed above may make it
necessary for you to submit a shorter abstract than the
one originally reviewed.
·
If you originally submitted your abstract to the APA
Program Committee (and not, for example, to an affiliated
group or three-year colloquium), and if you followed the
instructions on Page 6 of the Program Guide published in
the October 2004 Newsletter,
your abstract already follows the above guidelines. You
need only add your name to that abstract and submit it to
the APA.
·
Please do NOT
fold your abstract when mailing. Use cardboard backing if
possible. Abstracts must be received no later
than September 9, 2005.
Electronic Publication of Abstracts
We
urge you to submit your abstract to the APA web site for
its Annual Meeting section. Please consult the APA web
page (http://www.apaclassics.org/AnnualMeeting/06mtg/06e-abstracts.html)
for submission guidelines. We hope that making abstracts
available on the web in advance of the meeting will
stimulate discussion, help members plan their schedules
better, and inform them about sessions that they are
unable to attend. Please note that abstracts for the
web site must be submitted in the correct electronic form
directly to the Web Editor.
