Getting to Philadelphia

By Air: Philadelphia International Airport is located approximately 7 miles from the meeting hotels. Twenty-nine airlines offer nearly 620 daily departures to 123 cities, including 36 international destinations.

APA and AIA have partnered with American Airlines to provide our attendees a 5% discount for the 2012 Joint Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. The valid travel dates for this discount are January 2-11, 2012. You can easily access American’s fares and apply this discount by going to www.aa.com to book your flight. Place the Promotion Code 8912BT in the promotion code box and your discount will be calculated automatically. This special discount is valid off any applicable published fares listed for American Airlines, American Eagle, and American Connection. International originating guests will need to contact your local reservation number and refer to the Promotion Code.

By Train: Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station is a major hub for Amtrak's service along the Northeast Corridor.  Reservations may be made online at www.amtrak.com or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245).

By Car: Philadelphia is just two hours from New York City, 90 minutes from Baltimore, and three hours from Washington D.C. by car via major highways.More than 63 million people – approximately a quarter of the U.S. population – live within a 5.5-hour drive from Philadelphia. Both the Marriott and the Loews offer on- and off-site  parking.

*Rental Cars:  Hertz is offering Annual Meeting attendees special rates on rentals January 1-15, 2012. To reserve special meeting rates, please provide discount code CV#022Q5371to your corporate travel department or your travel agent when making reservations. You can also make reservations online at Hertz.com or by calling Hertz directly (1-800-654-2240 in the U.S. and Canada; 1-405-749-4434 in all other countries). At the time of reservation, the meeting rates will be automatically compared to other Hertz rates and you’ll be quoted the best comparable rate available.

All other major car rental companies have outlets at the airport and/or in Center City.

Getting to the hotels

From Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)

Visit the airport’s websitefor a summary of ground transportation options and contact information for carriers.

*Shuttle Services: Several ground transportation companies offer service from the airport to the hotels with rates starting at $10 per person. For more information, please visit the Ground Transportation Information desk located in each baggage claim area. The Ground Transportation Information representative can assist you by providing a list of transportation providers that are authorized to travel to your destination. Representatives will provide instructions on how to contact the provider of your choice. They will also alert you once your provider arrives to pick you up.

*Taxi:  Follow the Ground Transportation and Taxi signs visible in all terminals.  The fare to the hotels is a flat rate of $28.50 (for more than one passenger a $1 surcharge is added per person).

*By Car:  Follow I-95 North to exit 22 (Central Philadelphia) and follow signs for 676 West. Continue on 676 to the Broad Street exit.

To the Marriott: Take Broad St. Exit onto 15th Street and turn left onto Vine. Make a right onto 12th St. The Marriott is at 12th and Filbert.  Off-site and valet parking are available; please contact the hotel directly for details.

To the Loews: Continue onto 15th Street through seven traffic lights (you will see City Hall on your left). Continue around City Hall and make a right onto Market Street. At 12th Street make a right into the Loews Hotel entrance. Off-site and valet parking are available; please contact the hotel directly for details.

*By train: SEPTA regional rail service is accessible via the pedestrian overpass between the departure and arrival terminals. The one-way fare is $7.00, and schedule information can be found at http://www.septa.org/schedules/rail/pdf/air.pdf. Take the train to Market East Station. After disembarking from the train, turn around and go in the opposite direction. Take stairs or escalator to the main level and follow signs to the Marriott (if going to the Loews, follow Marriott signs to street level and cross Market Street to the Loews).

From 30th Street Station

Amtrak’s 30th Street Station is located at 30th and Market Streets and is about 1.5 miles from the hotels. SEPTA’s regional rail service also serves 30th Street Station, and your Amtrak ticket stub is valid for the two-stop ride from 30th Street to Market East.  Trains to Market East leave from Platforms 1, 2, and 5 of the SEPTA portion of the terminal (Walk to the end of the waiting room opposite the large war memorial statue, and then go up the walkway to the right.).  When you leave the train at Market East, follow the instructions in the paragraph above to reach the Marriott and Loews.

Taxi service is available at the 30th Street entrance.
