*Vacancies are calculated by adding 2/3 of the jobs advertised as possible to the jobs advertised as definite; “Candidates” refers to all candidates except Subscribers Only. Since the Subscription Only option for candidates was eliminated beginning with the 2003-04 Placement Year, the ratios in this historical table have been re-calculated so they will be compatible with future tables (see the 2000-2001 table for ratios calculated using all candidates registered with the Placement Service).

In the 2002-2003 Placement Year, there were a total of 179 positions advertised with the Placement Service (162 definite and 17 possible). The status of these searches follows: 135 filled, 8 ongoing, 15 cancelled or not filled, 12 filled but not with a classicist, 9 outcome not reported to the APA.
