NOTES:

  1. AJH does not disclose information regarding its referees.
  2. Arethusa did not accept submissions after May 2001 because of a backlog and the editor's appointment as Associate Dean; thus the numbers are not representative.
  3. Classical Antiquity encourages submissions from a wide range of different approaches and methodologies and has an active policy of inclusiveness in recruiting reviewers and referees.
  4. Classical Outlook consistently aims to include members of all groups in every facet of the journal's operation.
  5. Classical World does not have a traditional editorial board; included here are the editor, asociate and assistant editors, managing editor, and the subeditors of various departments, only some of whom are involved in evaluation of submissions.
  6. Syllecta Classica appears for the first time in the journal surveys for 2001.
  7. The figures on articles for TAPA do not include 5 articles by men that were held over for the next volume, nor do they include the Presidential Address, two pieces in the Paragraphoi section, and the 4 papers from the Presidential Panel, which did not go through the standard refereeing process. Of the 17 items in Volume 131, 10 are by men and 7 by women.
  8. Volume 47 (2001) of Vergilius was a special issue of conference proceedings. All the papers were invited and refereed as a group; they were revised, but none were rejected.
